This project is from back when I was working as a junior designer in London, at Echo Brand design. At the time, the company was just starting up, and they had ads in New Design Magazine every month to front the company. They created these “what if…”-ads, to illustrate their understanding of branding. That meant taking a brand, and imagining what would happen if you took the brand values and attributes and applied it to a completely different field. Ironically, today, it’s not as far fetched as it was back then. Just look at how chat services like WeChat is expanding into gaming, shopping and banking, or how Uber is going on to offer vaccine services. It’s all about disruption today. It’s still fun to go down memory lane and look at some work I did almost ten years ago.
